Artist’s Jumping on Bicycles to Create Their Own Unique Art
Pete Stokes is well-known for his artistic rendition of Nirvana’s classic Nevermind album cover using only a bicycle and a GPS tracker. Users of the popular Strava location monitoring software have created various pieces of glyph or GPS art, including Pete’s newborn photo. More of these magnificent GPS artworks can be seen on strav.art, a website dedicated to curating the best works of art created by Strava’s joggers, bikers, and hikers. To make Strava Art, you must first plan a route that will result in a recognised image based on the GPS trace. Then you’ll need to run or cycle the course using the Strava tracking app. The website encourages its users to submit their works of art to the network where users can view, share or comment on the pieces.
