Street Art Graffiti Freight Trains in the States
Graffiti on freight trains has been a problem for decades, and it is still a concern for railways and shipping companies. While it is unlawful and dangerous to paint freight cars, violators are susceptible to arrest, but they are rarely apprehended. Graffiti writers are knowledgeable enough to realise that if they don’t paint over the identifying numbers and other critical information, their work will last longer on the freight cars. If it’s especially inventive, the owners may simply leave it alone! Graffiti artists will continue to paint freight trains as long as they exist. Trains now circumnavigate the country, where they earlier encircled the district.
American photographer Wired for Lego (Flickr) has a keen eye for graffiti. In Portland, Oregon, these freight trains were recently captured by him.
